Can Ms. Candace be my student’s permanent instructor?
Unfortunately, Ms. Candace is not able to tutor students on a permanent basis. Although she highly enjoys teaching, the demands of running 2 business locations hinders her ability to have set schedules with students. Since Ms.
Candace’s passion is teaching, she will occasionally fill-in or substitute for instructors when they are absent.

We know in advance that my student will miss a session. Will I get a refund? Am I charged for missed sessions?
We encourage parents to let us know as soon as possible if your student will miss a session. Because we are a no-contract business and parents pay month-to-month, all rescheduled tutoring sessions must take place in the month they are missed. Our instructors are compensated for all sessions not “pre-cancelled” by 12:00pm (noon) on the day of tutoring. These missed sessions are not refunded and no
credit will be given.

Small group tutoring sessions are not refunded if missed.

Who will be my student’s instructor?
Our tutoring family consists of current certified teachers, retired teachers, professors, working professionals with a passion for teaching and graduate/university students. Our instructional team will match your student with an instructor who best meets his/her needs.

What if my student’s instructor is absent? Will he/she get a substitute?
Yes! Your student will work with the same small team of instructors. Each student’s learning plan clearly dictates what is to be taught, reviewed, and accomplished during each session.

Is there a waiting list?
If we are full and there is no availability for additional tutoring services, we will take interested students and put them on our waiting list. This will be located under the Registration page. If you would like to add your student’s name to our waiting list, complete the school year registration and select waiting list under Tutoring Options. A member of our team will reach out to you when an instructor and a time slot becomes available.

Registration Fee
A $79 registration fee is charged each academic school year.

Can I change my student’s tutoring schedule?
Of course! We understand that schedules change and will work with students and families who need to do so. However, your student may not get the same instructor once the schedule is changed. Most of our instructors have a full schedule and may not be able to accommodate some schedule changes. If a switch in instructors is needed, the needs of the student will be communicated by the current instructor.

When are tuition fees due?
Tuition fees are charged on the 25th of every month for the upcoming month of tutoring. Tuition is considered late if not paid by the 1st and a $25 late payment fee will be charged.

Can my student come to tutoring 1 day per week?
Only students who have been with us for a minimum of 4 months (1 semester) can come to tutoring 1 day per week. We call this our “maintenance schedule” because the student has progressed over the semester, however, they are not quite ready to stop tutoring altogether.

Why can’t a new student start with 1 day per week tutoring?
Through our experience, we do not see sufficient progress from students who start off with us for 1 hour per week. It is difficult for many students to retain information week-to-week and instructors are left reteaching the same
material rather than progressing in concepts and understanding of topics. Remember, we will see your student for 1 hour on one day. We won’t see them
again for another 7 days or 167 hours later!
